If wellness is stressing you out, it’s no longer
wellness. The key is to find joy in what you are doing and not stress about what you aren’t doing … yet. It’s about opening your eyes, opening your heart, being open to listening and having conversations … saying “how did I not know this?” and then doing something with this knowledge. We all do a lot of pretty stupid things … in hindsight. One small example: My university roommate and I loved Campbell’s vegetable soup … you know, the can (toxic lining) with the
label (misleading) full of ingredients (not food and lots of stuff our body doesn’t need) made by a company that really, really, really doesn’t care about us. Her boyfriend was an excellent cook (who became an even better professional chef) who would beg us to let him make us REAL vegetable soup - we couldn’t understand why he didn’t get that we just wanted to heat and eat the crap from the "super"market. The way I live and work now has been a journey (Borden Communications will turn 30 next year) … if you’ve been around me (reading my monthly emails, on social media, in real life, and in TWIC), you will know of some of my many stories. Why do I bother
sharing? Same reason that I invite you to share. We learn with and from each other. My approach is to empower, not to “should” on you. I also choose to spend
time with others who are kind, curious, and don't "should" on me. I'm not interested in telling you what you “should” do or what will work for you (because I’m
not you!). My job is not to shame you about what you are doing or what you aren’t doing today but to create the conditions for you to open your eyes and heart to what IS possible. It's not about doing more things, it’s about doing more of the right things ... on your terms. You know what works for your life better than anyone else ever can. I share with the hope that it will equip and empower you with easy-to-try strategies, resources, ideas, and hope so you want and can make your own choices … and do what YOU want to do. This goes for both my work in human and business
development. It’s not too late, you’re not too old, you’re not stuck, it really does matter, AND it can be exciting and fun to find new habits, people,
and ways that feel good. Really good. Like how a bowl of homemade vegetable soup made with ingredients from my garden feels to me now. Every day, in The Wellness Intelligence Collective (TWIC), I share one little thing to try, someone to meet, something to think about ... it might be for you (or not), but I bet you’ll see and feel what’s possible. The 1,100 members currently in TWIC are amazing … there is no "shoulding", no cost to members, no Wellnesswashing, and there are endless opportunities and solutions. As we move into September, I invite you to join us.
